ACO Architects designs a residence tailored to the needs of a multi-family household, blending function and harmony.
The Goodman House is a bespoke residence for two sisters who built their careers in the concrete precasting industry. The brief called for a major remodel of the existing house to support multi-family living, with added accessibility through an elevator and new communal and private spaces.

The design pays tribute to the owners' professional roots with a facade of triangular precast panels, bolted into place to form a folded exterior that casts dynamic shadows across the day. The bold exterior is balanced with an understated elegance achieved via a monochromatic palette with refined detailing.

Through strategic spatial and landscape planning, the home captures the relaxed "Eastie" atmosphere while efficiently maximising the site's constraints.
A bold metal staircase connects the upper floors, featuring framed viewports that look out of and into the house. Meanwhile, a monsoon window provides natural ventilation without the need for open windows. These strategies reveal how adaptive design can elevate living experiences while exploring architectural expression.
